Everybody into the Pool!
Get your co-workers, friends or family together and dive into a Lottery Pool. When you pool your cash, you get more chances to play and more chances to win. It’s easy and it’s fun!
Some easy tips to set up your Lottery Pool:
Designate a Pool Captain – choose someone who will motivate your members to play! Your Pool Captain will be responsible for gathering money, purchasing tickets and coordinating prize payouts when you win. So choose the luckiest person you know!
Assign assistants to help your Pool Captain. Pick a couple of people who “know” they’re going to win someday!
Name your Pool. Make it something unique, something funny, something lucky!
Discuss ahead of time what you will do with your winnings. Will you purchase more tickets? Will you divide the winnings? How will you divide your winnings? Who gets to tell the boss when you win?
Determine ahead of time if your pool will “cover” for a member that may not have been able to get their cash in by the time tickets are purchased. Will you cover your regular members, or is it “no pay – no play”? Some standard rules can help prevent any confusion when you win.
Determine a safe place to store the money contributed by your pool members.
Write your group name on the back of the original tickets when they are purchased. Keep the original tickets in a safe place where they can be found, if necessary, by your group’s assistants.
Post copies of the tickets and let everyone know the winning numbers. Checking the numbers on the drawing day is part of the fun!
Have a list of phone numbers and email addresses so pool members can be contacted – especially over a weekend – when you win.
Designate one member of your pool as the spokesperson. No tryout needed – just someone with a great smile and an outgoing personality. Someone who loves to talk!
Dive in! Good Luck – we hope we see your pool someday at Lottery Headquarters in Roseville standing in front of a great big check!
